Warehouse Supervisor

 

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead and support our warehouse team across multiple locations. This position plays an important role in ensuring efficient warehouse operations, accurate inventory management, timely distribution of supplies, and excellent service to our internal and external partners.

Day in the Life:

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will:

  • Coordinate and assign daily staff duties and responsibilities.
  • Work alongside the team to coach, mentor, and provide feedback.
  • Support accurate accounting and inventory reporting.
  • Facilitate training on warehouse management software and inventory best practices.
  • Safely operate assigned equipment and ensure required equipment and safety training is completed.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and workflow efficiency to help prevent loss.
  • Unload orders from shipping carriers using a forklift.
  • Order supplies from a variety of vendors as needed.
  • Receive and process donations for thrift and shelter operations and coordinate the transfer of goods to the appropriate campus.
  • Assist with large-scale incoming and outgoing donations from partner organizations.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with internal and external partners regarding supply requests, transportation needs, and other operational requirements.
  • Operate box trucks to transport supplies, equipment, and materials between three campuses, including the safe operation of forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ensure warehouse goods are properly rotated and distributed.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse environments.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Previous warehouse experience.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and customer service skills.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to meet AHS requirements to be insured as an AHS driver.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to learn and use warehouse management and other organizational software.
  • Ability to calculate inventory usage, develop budgets, and estimate costs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Zoom, Outlook, and Explorer is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and use Chameleon software as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.

 

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This position works in both indoor and outdoor environments, including warehouse, loading, and campus areas. The role may involve exposure to dust, heat, cold, changing temperatures, wet floors, animal noises, odors, dander, moving equipment, and vehicle traffic.

The position requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching, and other physical activities. The employee may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be used as required.

 

Important Requirements

Regular attendance and punctuality are required. The selected candidate must be able to pass the required background check and drug screening and meet AHS driver-insurance requirements.
