QA Automation Engineer

But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We’re seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join our team!

We are looking for a QA Engineer to help ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of Backblaze products across UI and API experiences. This role will serve as a trusted quality partner to Product and Engineering, owning end to end testing and helping define a strong quality strategy across new and existing features. The ideal candidate brings deep QA experience, strong automation skills, a thoughtful approach to test design, and the ability to improve testing workflows through AI, process enhancements, and close cross-functional collaboration.

• →Understand Backblaze products and its software stack
• →Write structured test plans for new features being developed
• →Automate tests in python/javascript and contribute to current test harnesses
• →Perform functional, integration and regression testing for Backblaze API and user flows.
• →Leverage AI to enhance these workflows and accelerate testing 
• →Identify, record and document reproducible steps for tracking defects from origin to resolution. 
• →Interact with developers to clarify functionality, facilitate defect resolution and resolve usability issues.  Perform verification testing of fixed defects.
• →Contribute to continual QA process improvement efforts.

• Experience with API testing and familiarity with cloud storage concepts.
• 5+ years of QA experience, with a track record of being curious, analytical and methodical.
• A keen eye for detail and ability to troubleshoot.
• Experience with scripting and test automation software (such as Selenium or Playwright).
• Utilize AI tools in a manner advantageous to testing.
• Familiarity with TestRail or a similar test case management software and JIRA or another project and issue-tracking software is needed. Other software that is relevant: Postman, Jenkins, GitHub. 
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and understanding of SDLC processes.
• Experience with performance and security testing is a plus.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Cross platform experience (Mac/Windows/Linux)
