Mgr II- Finance

BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Manager II of Program Finance to join the MEO Epoch2 program team. This role is critical in driving the financial health and sustainability of the program, serving as a primary partner to Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex cash flow projections, driving forward-looking financial strategies, and supporting the execution of RBA processes. This position requires a blend of tactical execution and strategic foresight to ensure the Falkor program meets its financial milestones and operational goals.

 The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth. 

What You’ll Do:
 

• Provide guidance and training to designated program control analysts ensuring compliance to BAE Systems Space and Mission Systems (SMS) internal systems and government regulations.
• Performance Management - contribute to programs and portfolios as a trusted business advisor in the Program Management Office, driving and tracking cost performance and communicating to program team, internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead the development, maintenance, and analysis of program cash flow forecasts to ensure liquidity and alignment with corporate financial targets.
• Collaborate closely with FP&A to integrate program-level financial data into broader organizational forecasts.
• Analyze variances between forecasted and actual cash flows, providing actionable insights and corrective recommendations to program leadership.
• Monitor burn rates and funding profiles to proactively identify potential shortfalls or surpluses.
• Serve as a key financial stakeholder in forward-looking MEO Epoch2 efforts, contributing to long-term strategic planning and lifecycle cost estimations.
• Develop financial models to simulate various program scenarios, assessing the impact of schedule shifts, scope changes, or technical pivots on the program's financial baseline.
• Provide financial guidance during the transition from development to production/deployment phases.

• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

 

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
 

• Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor. 

Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. 

• BS/BA in related field plus 10 or more years related experience.  
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education. 
• Understanding of typical project requirements and processes.
