As a Contract Instructional Coach serving Nebraska's middle and high schools, you will support teachers in elevating secondary literacy instruction through strong content knowledge and evidence-based practices.
Your responsibilities will include:

Collaborating with grades 6–12 ELA teachers to strengthen instruction

Supporting curriculum implementation aligned to state standards
-
Conducting classroom observations and providing actionable feedback
-
Modeling lessons and co-teaching to support instructional growth
-
Leading professional development sessions on writing instruction, text complexity, close reading, academic vocabulary, and more

Analyzing student performance data to guide literacy interventions
-
Helping teachers design rigorous assessments and instructional materials

Building teacher capacity through ongoing coaching cycles
Your work will directly impact adolescent literacy outcomes and teacher effectiveness across the state.
Strong knowledge of reading, writing, and language standards
Experience coaching teachers or leading ELA departments
Data analysis skills to inform instruction
Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
Strength in classroom management and instructional modeling
Organizational discipline and professionalism
A problem-solving, customer-focused mindset
Ability to drive into Nebraska from a bordering state (CO, IA, KS, SD, MO, WY)
This is an excellent fit for former instructional coaches, literacy specialists, department chairs, coordinators, or veteran secondary ELA teachers.
