About this role


We're looking for a Head of Growth to join us at a pivotal moment in our expansion. This is a genuine opportunity to shape how we grow - building the growth engine that will take Bailey Nelson into its next chapter, backed by a leadership team that values what great marketing can deliver.


You'll own the growth strategy and marketing budget, lead a team of marketers, and build the measurement foundations that allow us to invest in marketing with confidence. Reporting directly to the co-founder, this is a role for someone who is a strategically minded, commercially sharp leader - equally at home setting direction, developing their team and getting into the detail of what's driving performance. Responsibilities include


  • Growth Strategy & Budget Ownership: Own the marketing growth strategy and budget end to end across markets - determining how to allocate spend across channels, setting targets for each channel, and building the foundations to evaluate marketing as a commercial investment with a return, rather than a cost item.
  • Growth Leadership: Lead, coach and develop a team of growth marketers - setting clear priorities, building capability, and ensuring initiatives are executed to a high standard and delivered on time. Represent growth at a company leadership team level.
  • Channel Mix Development & Optimisation: Develop and continuously improve Bailey Nelson's marketing channel mix across paid digital, offline, CRM, referral and new channels - with a focus on building the measurement capability to understand what's working and why, so we can make continuously better investment decisions over time.
  • Testing & Experimentation: Build a test-and-learn culture - generating test ideas across channels and creative, defining how each test will be measured, prioritising by likely commercial impact, overseeing execution, and clearly communicating results.
  • Website: Oversee website performance as a key conversion and brand asset, working cross-functionally with product and tech to drive continuous improvement on key metrics.
  • Insight & Reporting: Review and report on key metrics across new, existing and lapsed customers - identifying trends, diagnosing gaps and translating data into clear actions for the growth team and Bailey Nelson leadership.
  • New Store Openings: Develop and execute pre-opening marketing plans that build local awareness and drive footfall from launch - working with store and brand teams to make every new opening a strong start.


What we're looking for


  • 5+ years in consulting, growth marketing or technology; experience in retail, CRM or digital marketing is a plus
  • Proven experience leading teams and working collaboratively across functions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision making
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in financial modelling
  • Highly organised, with strong execution skills and close attention to detail
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to prioritise based on business impact
  • Able to lead projects end to end, from strategy through to delivery
  • Based in Woolloomooloo Sydney office a minimum of 4 days per week
