You’ll serve as the primary connection point between operations, carriers, drivers, warehouses, and customer-facing teams to ensure safe, compliant, and on-time delivery performance. Here are your primary responsibilities: Plan, schedule, dispatch, and track outbound and inbound shipments across one or multiple manufacturing locations. Manage shipment creation, load tendering, tracking, confirmations, and closeout activities within BluJay TMS and maintain accurate shipment data within SAP. Coordinate carrier assignments and equipment availability to support production schedules and customer requirements. Monitor shipment activity and proactively resolve delays, missed pickups, equipment shortages, service disruptions, hazmat exceptions, and other transportation-related issues. Communicate shipment updates, delays, incidents, and exceptions with Customer Service, Production, Warehouse, Supply Planning, and Logistics teams. Review, validate, and maintain freight rates, fuel surcharges, accessorials, and special charges to ensure billing accuracy and prevent payment disputes. Support freight optimization and cost-control initiatives including shipment consolidation, routing improvements, and accessorial reduction opportunities. Ensure carrier compliance with DOT regulations, hazmat requirements, chemical handling standards, and site safety policies. Conduct carrier safety and service performance reviews focused on compliance, on-time delivery, incidents, and corrective actions. Maintain high levels of data accuracy, operational discipline, safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across transportation operations. What is Needed to be Successful in this Role (Required Skills/Abilities): Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or logistics-related training preferred. 5+ years of experience in shipping, dispatching, or transportation within a manufacturing, chemical, or regulated industry environment. Hands-on experience with BluJay TMS (e2open) and SAP strongly preferred. Experience supporting multiple locations or high-volume shipping operations. Working knowledge of DOT, hazmat, and chemical shipping requirements. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments, locations, and priorities simultaneously. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience shipping hazardous materials, bulk liquids, or regulated chemical products. Understanding of freight rating, accessorial charges, carrier invoicing, and dispute resolution processes. Strong attention to detail related to financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. Proactive problem-solving skills with sound judgment and escalation discipline. Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of urgency and accountability. Familiarity with site safety programs, carrier scorecards, and corrective action processes. Travel: Minimal travel as needed to support manufacturing locations and transportation operations. Physical Demands: Ability to work within office and manufacturing/warehouse environments with regular interaction with drivers, dock personnel, carrier representatives, and site operations teams. Adherence to all safety and PPE requirements is mandatory.
