As a Mortgage Operations Manager, you'll play a critical role in leading the teams and processes that help deliver a seamless mortgage experience from application through underwriting. This position offers the opportunity to drive operational excellence, strengthen risk management practices, and develop high-performing teams while helping customers achieve their homeownership goals.
  • Lead mortgage processing and underwriting operations, ensuring loans are reviewed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with credit and documentation requirements.
  • Guide teams in resolving complex and escalated loan application, underwriting, and operational issues while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
  • Review and approve complex loan scenarios and underwriting decisions within delegated authority and appropriately escalate high-risk or non-standard requests.
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of investor, agency, regulatory, and internal lending guidelines.
  • Oversee loan data integrity, documentation quality, and operational processes to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage daily workflow distribution and pipeline performance across processing and underwriting teams to meet service level expectations.
  • Analyze operational metrics, production trends, and reporting to identify risks and implement process improvements.
  • Partner closely with loan production, closing, secondary marketing, quality control, and other key stakeholders to resolve loan challenges and improve loan flow.
  • Promote adherence to policies, procedures, regulations, and internal controls while supporting audit readiness and quality assurance efforts.Lead, coach, and develop mortgage operations team members, supporting performance management, workforce planning, and employee growth.
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Law, Computer Science, or a related field (Required). An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • You have 6+ years of experience in mortgage operations, operational leadership, process oversight, and team management (Required).
  • You have 4+ years of supervisory or management experience leading a team, process, or project (Required).
  • You bring deep knowledge of mortgage operations, including processing, underwriting, and cross-functional workflow management.
  • You understand regulatory, investor, and internal lending requirements and can apply them consistently across operations.
  • You proactively identify operational and credit risks and take action to mitigate them.
  • You use data, reporting, and performance trends to evaluate results and drive continuous improvement.
  • You communicate effectively with leaders, stakeholders, and team members to influence outcomes and align priorities.
  • You build strong partnerships across departments to support business goals and customer success.
  • You thrive in changing environments and can effectively guide teams through evolving priorities.
  • You are passionate about coaching, developing, and empowering employees to achieve their full potential.

  • Targeted starting salary range (based on experience and geography): $88,657 - $116,819
