Financial Analyst

This is an exciting and entrepreneurial opportunity to join a fast-paced software consolidator with a significant growth trajectory. The Financial Analyst will report to the Assistant Manager or designate. This role will focus on partnering with operating and finance colleagues to support high-quality software businesses owned by Banyan Software. The position is ideal for an individual that has the interest and aptitude to be involved in all aspects of finance operations, including revenue recognition, accounts payables and expenses, cash management, financial reporting, and analysis, as well as systems. This finance group also plays a “value added” role by leveraging financial and other data to drive shareholder value.

• →Verify the accuracy of transactions recorded in the appropriate ledger (AR and AP).
• →Collaborate with the Junior Financial Analyst to oversee monthly cash books, AP payments, and invoice processing.
• →Develop the AR Billing Schedule.
• →Prepare and reconcile Deferred Revenue Schedules with guidance from the Senior Financial Analyst or Assistant Manager.  Deferred Revenue balance should be in a waterfall format so that a ST/LT reclassification of Deferred Revenue on LT Contracts is possible. 
• →Conduct monthly reconciliations for Balance Sheet accounts.
• →Includes: Cash, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Intangible Assets, Deferred Revenue, Accrued Liabilities, Accrued Accounts Receivable, etc.
• →Perform monthly reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
• →Post (and related processing activities) payroll and statutory payments, inclusive of all applicable taxes.
• →Handle monthly Sales Tax filings in coordination with Tax team.
• →Manage day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• →Prepare and provide commentary on the Profit and Loss Variance Analysis Report at month-end.
• →Generate Revenue Reports at month-end, commenting on variances (Month-over-Month and Quarter-over-Quarter).
• →Efficiently manage month-end tasks, including prepayments/accruals, and prepare revenue and Profit and Loss reports.
• →Continuous review of SOPs to ensure that they remain relevant and suggest process improvement changes to SFAs / AMs as applicable.
• →Conduct periodic internal audits of compliance, as directed by Controllership.

The ideal candidate for the role will possess the following characteristics:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a finance/accounting role
• College degree in business, accounting, or finance will be preferred.
• Accounting designation 
• Solid working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Experience with NetSuite is an asset.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Highly motivated and energetic with interest in entrepreneurship, software, and finance
