Registered Nurse, Transitional Critical Care RN Residency for Experienced RNs

The Fall 2026 Transitional RN Residency for experienced RNs is now accepting applications.  If offered, the program will begin on November 16, 2026.  This position is intended for experienced registered nurses seeking entry into a Critical Care Residency Training Program. Applicants must have a minimum of one year of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting. Employees currently working in a step-down unit are not required to apply to the Critical Care Residency Program in order to transition to the ICU.

Applications must be completed and submitted via the Internet only. Program availability is subject to change and will only run based on organizational needs.  Register your interest in the event the Critical Care Residency takes place. Placement, interview, and location preferences are not guaranteed.  Most available positions will be for the night shift.

The Registered Nurse is a licensed professional able to demonstrate the following core competencies:  assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership and service.  This course is designed to provide nurses with theoretical knowledge needed to provide holistic family-centered care to patients and family members and is targeted toward registered nurses who are new to critical care nursing. 

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. All Associate Degree nurses hired after 2/2012 accepted into the program must agree to achieve their BSN degree within 3 years of start date.
• Have a Current FL RN License
• Have a current BLS for Healthcare Provider card issued by BHSF
• Have 1 year of current RN experience in a hospital setting (required)
• Complete Transfer Acknowledgement Form in the Employee Self Service.  

• Copy of Nursing Diploma or Unofficial Transcript indicating the nursing degree awarded
• Copy of FL RN license
• Copy of BLS for Healthcare Provider card issues by BHSF.
