The Quality Engineer, Subject Matter Expert (Part-Time) will support the NASA Safety & Mission Assurance (SMA) Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, Alabama.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Support the Space Launch System (SLS) program by leveraging extensive quality engineering expertise and NASA experience to ensure safety, mission assurance, and program success.
- →Serve as a Quality Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting the SLS Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) Chief Safety Office.
- →Apply historical knowledge of Launch Vehicle GMIPs, assessments, and MRB Authority processes to enhance program objectives and operational excellence.
- →Perform quality engineering activities in support of the Space Launch System (SLS) program at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.
- →Other duties as assigned.

- Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering or a related field.
- Must have 20+ years of recent and related work experience.
- In lieu of degree: Candidates with 24+ years of recent and related work experience will be considered.
- Prior experience with National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) processes and procedures is highly desired.
- Skilled in working with both contractors and NASA senior level engineering and Program/Project Managers in a professional manner and able to communicate complex safety and engineering issues in an understandable and diplomatic manner.
- This position is a remote position; some travel may be required.
- Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.

Requirements
~1 min read- Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

- Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.
- Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
- Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
- Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
- Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
