Beloit Health System at Beloit Regional Hospice is hiring a Chaplain to join our team.

  • Shift: 1st
  • Schedule: 8a-4:30p
  • Hours per week: 40 hours per week, no call required
  • Benefits Status: Benefits Eligible
  • Department: Beloit Regional Hospice

The Chaplain at Beloit Regional Hospice Work as a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team to provide direct spiritual support and counsel to patients and families in keeping with the beliefs of the patient and family.

The Chaplain is responsible for completing spiritual assessments with Beloit Regional Hospice patients. The Chaplain will:

  • Consult with care teams and grief support staff.
  • Provide patient and family education consistently and appropriately
  • Consistently identify patient/caregiver learning needs and implement appropriate education utilizing written, and/or verbal, audiovisual material
  • Establish POC, based on accepted protocols, discipline standards and scope of practice, which is congruent with the patient's needs
  • Make referrals appropriately demonstrating knowledge and use of current theory, research and practice patterns/techniques in patient(s) care
  • Develop and implement teaching tools for patient and/or family

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology or appropriate certification/experience in hospital or pastoral ministry.
  • Hospice experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to be open, sensitive, flexible and ecumenical.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with patients/families dealing with life threatening illness and death.
  • Maintain ethical conduct and keep confidential personal and medical information about patients.
  • Adhere to established hospice and health system, rules, and regulations.
  • Participate in educational programs and continually seek for personal development.
  • Physical effort includes walking, standing, stair climbing, bending and stooping, lifting, reaching, and sitting at long intervals.
  • Manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination.
  • Ability to see and hear at a sufficient level to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to speak clearly and distinctly and to interact positively with patients, peers, and the public.

Reporting Relationship: Department Manager & Director.
