We are looking for an HR Business Partner to be based in our Houston, TX  Headquarters. This position is office-based in Houston, TX (not remote).

Responsibilities:
•Partner with BGE leaders to build and foster relationships with leaders and employees implement business and HR initiatives in the region
•Provide business-focused HR solutions and services
•Resolve employee relations concerns, partner with leaders and provide guidance on performance management, create path of success for employees
•Create and facilitate training and development for region; support and participate in non-HR training
•Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records, creating and generating routine and ad hoc reports as well as other administrative functions such as data management, employee status changes, and payroll reports
•Regionally lead the Company employee recognition program
•Effectively communicate and administer HR compliance such as company policies, procedures, programs, changes and related issues
•Manage employee workers compensation process and unemployment processes
•Manage Leaves of Absence and FMLA, ADA administration, as well implement local and state laws for the region
•Engage in activities that support the Company culture and values
•Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding with care, compassion, and expertise.
•Engage in Company benefits and company compensation processes to enable effective communication and education to employees.
•Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:
•8+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, HRBP, or other related HR role.
•Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field.
•Strong experience with employee relations, employee leave programs/FMLA, employee benefits, etc.
•Demonstrated experience as a consultative problem-solver with the ability to build relationships
•SHRM-CP and/or PHR/SPHR is preferred
•Experience in engineering or consulting is preferred. Civil Engineering a plus.
•Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skills
•Working knowledge of UKG HRIS and Vantagepoint systems preferred
•Critical thinking and the ability to manage competing priorities to meet the needs of various groups/departments
Willingness and ability to be in the office from Monday through Friday during normal working hours (this is not a remote role)
•Willingness and ability to travel as needed to other offices in the Houston metro region (Katy and The Woodlands) up to 20%.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels in an organization
