BPC’s Health Policy Program advances bipartisan policy solutions to build a more cost-effective, evidence-based health care system and to improve population health. We work to strengthen and sustain Medicare and Medicaid, accelerate the shift toward value, address inefficiencies and misaligned incentives, and responsibly leverage technology and innovation.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Leading team members in conducting independent research on new or existing legislation, regulations, and policies
- →Taking a leading role in drafting and vetting federal policy recommendations
- →Taking a leading role in drafting and editing reports, policy briefs, blog posts, fact sheets, and op-eds
- →Leading conversations with health care stakeholders, experts, BPC senior fellows, consultants, and project principals
- →Supporting outreach and communications activities, including briefings for policymakers
- →Working with program directors and the development department to draft grant proposals and grant reports, and support other donor management needs
- →Planning and executing project meetings and private roundtable discussions
- →Overseeing specific policy workstreams including developing work plans, managing key principals, proactively conducting expert and stakeholder outreach, and developing written materials
- →Participating in public communications, including podcasts, Facebook Live events, and external presentations or media interviews
- →Overseeing the work of junior staff and/or project interns on select projects
- →Tracking project outcomes and successes for impact statements and project reports
- →Other duties as assigned
Requirements
~3 min read- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR relevant advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience conducting research on federal or state policy and/or regulations is required
- Capitol Hill or administration experience is a plus
- Previous grant-writing experience is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task on numerous projects, large and small, in both collaborative and independent situations, and sometimes on short timelines
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience leading projects is a plus
- Works well independently, and as part of a team
