Position Overview:
The Historian will provide professional historical services including research, analysis, writing, and archival documentation.


Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in History or equivalent (Master’s degree in History with a peer-reviewed monograph).
  • Degree from an accredited university.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct extensive historical research and produce approximately 30 pages monthly of original written content adhering to professional historical standards.
  • Process and manage lineage and honors certificates and heraldry requests in compliance with Army regulations.
  • Coordinate historical documentation with the Army Center of Military History and Institute of Heraldry.
  • Plan, conduct, and transcribe oral history interviews.
  • Support heritage projects and maintain historical accuracy in accordance with military regulations and standards.
  • Maintain detailed logs of historical documentation and activities.
Required Skills:
  • Expertise in historical research methodologies.
  • Strong writing and editing capabilities, conforming to professional historical style guides.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver tasks within prescribed deadlines.
  • Competence in handling classified and controlled unclassified information.
Security Clearance:
  • SECRET clearance required.
Salary
  • $110,000 - $120,000
