The Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting financial performance across client programs and internal operations. This role is responsible for analyzing project-level profitability, ensuring alignment between client budgets, working budgets, POs, and invoicing, and driving accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
The analyst partners closely with Account Managers, Project Leads, and Finance to ensure strong financial controls, proactive insights, and optimized cash flow.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Build and maintain financial models for client programs, including revenue, cost, and margin analysis
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes across multiple entities or divisions
- Provide insights into profitability by client and program
- Review and validate Client Budgets and Working Budgets
- Ensure all programs have approved budgets and are aligned with expected margins
- Track and analyze project-level profitability, identifying risks and opportunities
- Analyze total monthly costs to ensure it matches with the forecast, identify any adjustments that may be required
- Monitor incremental billable items (e.g., storage, coupons, vendor pass-throughs, incremental hours) to ensure full cost recovery
- Partner with Project Leads to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial visibility
- Support cash flow forecasting, including analysis of large client payment terms and impacts on working capital
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve cash conversion cycle
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for:
- Project profitability
- Budgets vs. actual performance
- Support continuous improvement of financial systems and processes, including integration between budgeting, invoicing, and reporting tools
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems
- Identify gaps in financial processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Support implementation of standardized processes for budgeting, billing, and reporting
- Contribute to automation and reporting enhancements (e.g., dashboards, tracking tools)
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 3-5+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a project-based or service environment
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cost allocation
- Ability to manage large volumes of data with high accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and client teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Results-driven with a focus on meeting KPIs and deadlines
