Bottomline is looking for a Junior (Jr) Site Reliability Engineer to grow with us in a Hybrid work environment out of our Theale, Reading UK office!

Candidates for this position must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom on a full-time basis for any employer without restriction.

• →Build and maintain automation for operations and customer setup using scripting and configuration-as-code (e.g., Bash, Python, Golang, Powershell).
• →Contribute to configuration management and infrastructure automation (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• →Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) for service deployments and runbooks.
• →Create and maintain runbooks and documentation for repeatable BAU activities and onboarding workflows.
• →Enhance monitoring and alerting (Grafana/OTEL/Prometheus) to improve reliability and reduce manual toil.
• →Collaborate with SRE/DevOps engineers and service teams to deliver small, incremental improvements.
• →Follow security and compliance practices, including certificate handling and secrets management.
• →Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews; propose automation to prevent recurrence.
• →After ramp-up, participate in an on-call rotation with guidance and support. Customers & Operations
• →Demonstrate a strong service mindset and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• →Meet commitments and SLAs by using automation to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
• →Replace manual, error-prone onboarding steps with automated workflows and templates.

• Foundational system administration on Linux and/or Windows Server.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation and configuration management (Terraform, Ansible/Puppet).
• Scripting ability in at least one language (Bash, Python, Golang, Powershell).
• Basic CI/CD concepts and tools in production environments.
• Understanding of observability fundamentals (metrics, logs, traces) and relevant tools (Grafana/OTEL).
• Basic networking and platform concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, certificates, virtualization, containers).
• Version control with Git and GitOps-friendly workflows.
• Clear written/verbal communication, eagerness to learn, and a collaborative mindset.
