You are an experienced engineering leader who knows how to build strong teams, deliver impactful platform or developer productivity initiatives, and foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, and technical excellence. You are passionate about coaching and developing engineers, and you bring a thoughtful, pragmatic approach to planning, execution, and cross-functional partnership. You are comfortable balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day operational rigor, and you know how to align engineering work with business outcomes. You thrive in collaborative environments, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and are energized by the opportunity to lead a team in Poland that plays an important role in Box’s long-term success. As part of an AI-first company, you are also curious about how AI can improve engineering workflows, decision-making, and team impact.
- 5+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering with 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role
- Demonstrated experience improving developer experience through platform, tooling, or workflow investments that increase engineering productivity and reduce delivery friction.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes internals and ecosystem tools (Helm, ArgoCD, Istio/Linkerd, Prometheus, etc.).
- Experience managing production Kubernetes clusters on at least one major public cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking, and containerization.
- Passion about open source and staying up-to-date with the community
Preferred skills
- Experience with multi-tenant Kubernetes environments or platform engineering.
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud-native platforms (OPA/Gatekeeper, workload identity, network policies).
- Lead a team of experienced engineers in Poland.
- Define the team's roadmap, execution plans, and take ownership of project delivery.
- Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring.
- Uphold values by building a collaborative, inclusive team focused on customer impact.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence through emphasis on execution, quality, and scale.
- Organize stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and manage sprint task statuses.
- Collaborate with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments.
- Work with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to ensure the team delivers significant business impact.
- Manage and coordinate the team’s on-call rotation to ensure timely and effective incident response, actively participate in escalated on-call incidents to provide leadership and support, and drive improvements by addressing recurring issues to minimize disruptions.
- Represent Box internally and externally.
