About Role 

As an iOS Engineer, you will make significant contributions to our upcoming iOS app, helping define the foundation, architecture, and long-term technical direction of the platform. You will be involved in making important design and architectural decisions, building scalable systems and reusable components, and driving technical improvements across the app as it evolves.

You will work closely with other engineers, Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and Designers to build a consistent and reliable user experience across platforms. You will also collaborate closely with other engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and day-to-day guidance, while helping establish strong engineering practices for iOS.

You will work closely with the design team to identify and fix gaps between design and engineering, helping us craft polished, delightful, and technically excellent user experiences. You are a hybrid thinker with a solid grasp of modern frontend architecture and design systems. You are an engineer with a designer's eye for nailing UI details of interaction and motion design, and can help us design and implement new interaction patterns for Mobile and Web.

We are looking for someone who has experience building and shipping iOS applications with a strong foundation and is comfortable handling the challenges that come with building a new platform. You will take ownership of major projects and contribute across different parts of the iOS codebase as needed, while helping shape the future of mobile engineering at Branch.

Responsibilities 

• Leading the development of major features and improvements across the Branch iOS app. You will help build reliable and scalable mobile experiences for a growing customer base.
• Helping shape the long-term technical direction of the iOS platform by proposing scalable solutions, defining engineering standards, and making thoughtful architectural decisions from the early stages of the app. 
• Working closely with backend teams, Android team and other platforms to design reliable and efficient integrations, and also build consistent user experience. You will help solve technical challenges that involve multiple systems and teams.
• Driving improvements around app performance, stability, maintainability, observability, and developer experience. You will help ensure the app remains easy to build on and operate as it evolves.
• Collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Engineering Managers, and other senior engineers to deliver high-impact projects. You will play an important role in balancing product needs with technical quality.
• Mentoring and supporting other engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and day-to-day guidance. You will help raise the overall engineering quality and support team growth.
• Taking ownership of larger and more complex projects, driving them end to end from design to release. You will be expected to handle ambiguity and help the team move projects forward.
• Contributing to architectural discussions and making technical proposals that improve scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability of the iOS app. You will help the team make thoughtful technical decisions as the product evolves.
• Helping improve engineering standards, team processes, development workflows, and release standards for the iOS platform. You will contribute to building a strong engineering culture within the mobile team.
• Supporting the development of new financial products and user experiences on mobile. You will work on solving real-world problems for users through technology and product innovation.
• Work with designers to build, maintain, and own a robust, scalable design system and implement design tools and code integrations.
• Maintain consistency in our design system code base as we grow across multiple platforms.

Qualifications 

• 5+ years of experience building and shipping large-scale iOS applications with strong exposure to production systems and real-world user challenges.
• Strong experience with Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and modern iOS architecture patterns. Experience building scalable and maintainable mobile applications is expected.
• Track record of building iOS applications from scratch, including setting up application architecture, project structure, development workflows, and long-term engineering foundations.
• Good understanding of cross-platform mobile technologies and experience working in environments where native and cross-platform solutions coexist. Comfortable collaborating across platforms and adapting technical approaches based on product and engineering needs.
• You are comfortable working in varied levels of fidelity for prototyping from early concepts to high-quality, production-ready UI that nails the details of interaction design and motion design, including but not limited to design tokens, microinteractions, and screen transitions.
• Worked on implementing Motion Design and Design systems
• Track record of leading and delivering complex projects end to end, from technical planning and design to development, release, and long-term maintenance.
• Strong foundation in designing modular and reusable iOS components, frameworks, or feature modules that improve scalability and development efficiency.
• Good understanding of mobile security best practices such as secure networking, biometrics, data protection, encryption, and app security mechanisms.
• Experience mentoring engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and day-to-day collaboration, while helping improve overall engineering quality within the team.
• Strong understanding of iOS architectures, technical trade-offs, performance optimization, observability, and building scalable solutions for long-term product growth.
• Demonstrated fluency with modern AI-assisted development workflows and a point of view on their effectiveness for various use cases.
• Experience hiring engineers and building a team's bar over time, including making hard calls on performance.
• Clear, structured written and verbal communication, comfortable operating async effectively.
