Main Accountabilities: As an English Language Teacher, you’ll deliver engaging, high-quality lessons tailored to diverse learner needs, ensuring British Council’s global teaching standards are met. You’ll monitor progress, provide feedback, and promote learner autonomy while staying at the forefront of best ELT practices through ongoing professional development. You’ll also support teaching centre activities, assist with marketing initiatives, maintain excellent customer service, and complete essential administrative tasks. Building strong relationships with students and colleagues, you’ll foster cultural exchange and create opportunities for learners to connect with UK values. In every aspect of your work, you’ll uphold British Council’s values and ensure compliance with safeguarding, data protection, equality, diversity, inclusion, and health and safety standards. Qualifications & Experience: Essentials: * University degree or equivalent * Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Certificate TESOL (TEFLi) or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years’ post-certificate teaching experience (approximately 1,200 hours). * High proficiency in English i.e. CEFR level of C2 or IELTS Band 8+ in each of 4 sections of the academic module. * Experience in teaching relevant age groups to be specified by the centre * Early Years aged 4 and 5 * Primary aged 6 to 10 (400+ hours) * Lower Secondary aged 11 to 14 (800+ hours) * Upper Secondary aged 15 to 17 (400+ hours) * University/Vocational students aged 18 to 25 (400+hours) * Adults General English 18+ (800+ hours) Desirable requirements: * Recognised diploma in EFL eg. DELTA or Trinity Diploma (TEFLq) * Specialism where appropriate eg YL qualification: TYLEC (or equivalent), PGCE/BEd in Primary or relevant subject.
