Pay Band: 4/H Country/Location: Noida, India Department: GSS English & Exams Contract Type: 1 Year Fixed Term Contract Closing Date: 20th July 2026, Monday Work Schedule: This is a 24/7 on-site role with rotating shifts, including night shifts. The position offers two days off per week, which may not always fall on weekends. Flexibility and adaptability to a continuous shift-based environment are essential. There is no hybrid work arrangement for this position and it requires working onsite five days a week. Role Purpose The British Council is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Teaching Operations Coordinator to join our team in India. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of our English teaching operations by providing high-quality operational, administrative, and coordination support across teacher resourcing, payroll, reporting, scheduling, and stakeholder management. Main accountabilities: As a Teaching Operations Coordinator, you will work closely with Teaching Operations Managers, academic teams, finance colleagues, external vendors, and teachers to ensure teaching services are delivered efficiently and in line with organisational standards. You will be responsible for coordinating weekly payroll claims for English Online (EO) teachers, working with vendors to ensure invoices are processed and paid on time, and monitoring operational activities to ensure they are completed within agreed quality and service standards. The role also involves supporting the onboarding of new teachers by coordinating compliance requirements, setting up teacher accounts, and managing access to operational systems such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other business platforms. You will liaise with Finance to raise purchase orders, process invoices, and support timely payments, while also working with Teaching Operations Managers to ensure teacher availability is scheduled effectively to meet client and business requirements. A key aspect of the role is maintaining accurate operational data and reporting. You will prepare regular reports on teacher hours, maintain teacher databases and operational records, and undertake basic data analysis to identify trends and support continuous process improvement. Ensuring data accuracy, compliance with organisational requirements, and the timely completion of reporting activities will be essential. You will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of teaching operations by coordinating closed-group courses and global teaching timetables, maintaining effective communication with internal teams, and ensuring that operational activities run smoothly. The role requires the ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks, respond effectively to changing business needs, and collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality services. As a key operational contact, you will respond to queries from internal teams, recognise and escalate incidents such as complaints or technical issues that could impact teaching delivery, and support the implementation of new systems and business processes as they are introduced. The successful candidate will have experience in an operational or administrative role and be highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work to tight deadlines. Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. You should be an experienced user of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, SharePoint, Teams, and Word, and be confident working with multiple digital systems. A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidential information and operational records are critical to success in this role. Role specific knowledge, skills and experience: * A bachelor's degree in any discipline is required * At least 1 year of experience of working in operational or administrative roles * Experienced user of Microsoft Office apps like. MS Excel, PowerPoint, Forms, SharePoint, Teams, Word, etc. Condition of Employment: Language: Strong English proficiency is crucial for this role, requiring fluency in both written and spoken communication to effectively navigate British Council systems and international operations. Please note: Interviews will be conducted primarily in English. The successful candidate must be able to speak and write well in English, as this is essential for the role. Locally recruited: Applications are welcomed from candidates currently in this location with a natural right to work. Relocation support is not provided. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holders will need have, or be able to obtain, a valid special work permit issued from Government of India (GOI) to work in the British High Commission (BHC).
