Business Analyst, Barbados Business Unit
Role Purpose
The Business Analyst, reporting to the Group Financial Controller (GFC) supports operational and commercial decision‑making by providing clear, timely, and actionable insights across sales, distribution, supply chain, and financial performance. The role focuses on improving execution, efficiency, and profitability across the distribution business while ensuring alignment between strategy and day‑to‑day operations.
Key Responsibilities
- GFC & Executive Support
- Act as a key analytical partner to the GFC
- Provide data‑driven insights to support operational and strategic decisions
- Prepare performance dashboards and reports for executive and management meetings
- Conduct ad‑hoc analysis and scenario modelling as requested by the GFC
- Sales & Commercial Performance Analysis
- Analyse sales performance by brand, SKU, channel, territory, and customer
- Track quotas, targets, and KPIs versus actual performance
- Identify lost sales due to stock availability, pricing, or execution gaps
- Support sales effectiveness, incentive tracking, and route‑to‑market assessments
- Pricing, Margin & Profitability
- Monitor gross margin, contribution margin, and net profitability
- Analyse pricing structures, discounts, promotions, and rebates
- Highlight margin pressure or erosion and recommend corrective actions
- Support supplier and customer negotiations with data‑backed insights
- Inventory & Supply Chain Insights
- Track stock levels, stock cover, and service levels
- Identify slow‑moving, obsolete, or high‑risk inventory
- Analyse supply disruptions and operational bottlenecks
- Support demand planning and forecasting discussions with Operations and Sales
- Operational Performance & Process Improvement

- Develop and monitor operational KPIs (OTIF, stock availability, order fill rate)
- Identify inefficiencies in distribution, warehousing, and sales execution
- Support continuous improvement initiatives led by the GFC and COO
- Provide data and analysis to support operational reforms and process changes
- Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, and Operations
- Ensure consistent data, reporting standards, and performance visibility
- Enable better prioritisation by centralising insights through the COO and GFC’s offices
- Translate complex data into practical actions for operational teams
Requirements
- 3–5 years' experience in business analysis, commercial analysis, financial analysis or operational analysis
- Experience developing management reports and executive dashboards
- Proven experience supporting decision-making through data-driven insights
- Experience working across Sales, Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Marketing
- Business analytics certification would be advantageous
- Experience in distribution, FMCG, wholesale, retail, logistics or supply chain environments preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
This role is based in Barbados. Successful candidates must be legally authorized to work in Barbados and able to relocate at their own expense
