Responsibilities

Working with the Principal Learning Strategist and the learning design team, you’ll turn client needs into creative, pedagogically sound self-paced digital experiences that add value to the customer’s business challenge. This includes:

  • →Learning design – Take a client need and apply learning design science, principles and methodologies, plus digital learning best practices, to our self-paced digital experiences.
  • →Writing for multiple mediums – Write client-facing presentations and communications, copy for digital experiences, and scripts for audio and video content.
  • →Creative collaboration – Work with the visual design team to develop creative learning solutions.
  • →Client partnership – Help clients uncover their needs and validate the solution. You’ll join discovery with client stakeholders and subject matter experts, and lead working sessions and feedback cycles.
  • →Generative AI – Use generative AI tools strategically and intentionally, in context.

Office is based in Toronto and candidates must reside within the Ontario or British Columbia provinces; however candidates are able to work fully remote.

This is a contract role with an average commitment of 15–25 hours per week.

A Learning Experience Designer at BTS Custom Digital Learning develops creative learning solutions that go beyond the traditional boundaries of instructional design. This role sits at the crossroads of learning, technology and design.

  • Experience – 1–2 years as a Learning Experience Designer or similar role (for example, Instructional Designer).
  • Digital design – You understand the principles of UX/UI and have designed digital, self-paced experiences.
  • Modalities – You have a strong understanding of different learning deliveries and modalities.
  • Client-facing experience – At least 1 year working directly with clients.
  • Authoring tools – You know modern-day authoring tools.
  • AI tools – You have experience using AI tools.

Nice to Have

  • Authoring tools, hands-on – First-hand experience with industry-standard authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise).
  • Digital content development – Experience building digital content.
  • Vibe-coding tools – Experience with, or exposure to, vibe-coding tools.
