Requirements Summary

Minimum of associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited institution, required. Or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS/CLS, Biology, Chemistry, or related field), required.

Responsibilities

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA regulations. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely analysis of patient specimens, quality control, instrument maintenance, and result reporting. This position is responsible for testing in all of the following areas: phlebotomy, urinalysis, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank/transfusion services, and molecular testing.
