The Sr. Production Manager plays a key role in executing assigned Production tasks. This includes managing all processes and personnel in plant operations. The Sr. Production Manager is also responsible for maintaining efficiencies as well as adherence to all plant policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Monitor status of all assigned plant operations with a focus on safety, quality, production efficiency and keep plant leadership appraised of any changes.
- →Direct and coordinate work activities of all department employees.
- →Evaluate job performances of all direct reports and set goals that are measurable and attainable; provide feedback daily; Make Human Resource related decisions.
- →Provide leadership for effective employee relations through positive communication, coaching, training, problem resolution/corrective actions, and floor time.
- →Develop standard operating procedures for production duties. Ensure SOPs are documented, trained-to, adhered-to, and annually reviewed and followed-up by staff.
- →Look for ways to reduce or eliminate down time. Help identify constraints in the production process and look for ways to correct them.
- →Monitor production runs for efficiency by measuring and documenting using statistical process control.
- →Monitor and ensure quality standards set by the company for all the products being tested.
- →Operate Filling and Packaging equipment independently and as needed.
- →Provide recommendations and implement improvements to increase operating efficiency by working with outside vendors.
- →Utilize continuous improvement mindset; assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- →Monitor and ensure compliance to all OSHA, NYS A&M, PMO, FDA, SQF, USPH, and EEOC requirements.
- →Lead direct reports by example.
Requirements
~1 min read- BA/BS in Business Administration or related field preferred or equivalent related experience.
- Direct or related experience of 3 or more years.
Headquartered in LaFayette, Byrne is a Central New York-based dairy company with a legacy spanning over 90 years. Its operations include an extended shelf-life (ESL) and ultra-high temperature (UHT) pasteurization plant in DeWitt, as well as an ESL manufacturing facility in Cortlandville. Byrne also maintains warehouse facilities in Syracuse and East Syracuse, along with a dedicated ice cream center in Syracuse.
