The Courtesy Patrol/Monitor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting the daily operations, appearance, and safety of the resort. This position serves as a visible presence throughout the community by assisting residents and guests, helping park RVs, responding to resort service requests, conducting routine inspections, reading utility meters, and reporting maintenance or safety concerns. Monitors also provide relief coverage for the Courtesy Patrol gate as needed. The position requires operating a golf cart throughout the resort and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome residents and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Assist arriving guests with safely parking and positioning RVs on assigned sites.
  • Patrol the resort using a golf cart to identify maintenance, safety, or operational concerns.
  • Respond promptly to calls for service from residents, guests, or management.
  • Read utility meters as assigned and accurately record readings.
  • Inspect resort grounds, buildings, and common areas for issues requiring attention.
  • Report maintenance concerns such as water leaks, irrigation problems, damaged facilities, lighting outages, trip hazards, or other operational issues.
  • Assist with traffic control during busy arrival and departure periods, special events, or emergencies.
  • Deliver notices, supplies, or other materials throughout the resort as requested.
  • Maintain communication with management and staff using radios or other communication devices.
  • Complete daily activity logs, meter reports, and incident reports as required.
  • Operate golf carts and other light equipment safely and in accordance with resort policies.
  • Provide relief coverage at the Courtesy Patrol gate during breaks, shift changes, vacations, or other staffing needs.
  • Greet residents, guests, vendors, and contractors while providing gate coverage in accordance with resort policies.
  • Observe and report unusual activity or safety concerns to management.
  • Manage volunteer rangers and scheduling – in season.
  • Assist other departments as needed to ensure smooth resort operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous customer service, hospitality, maintenance, or resort experience is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with residents, guests, and fellow employees.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to safely operate a golf cart and light utility equipment.
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to enter and exit a golf cart frequently.
  • Ability to patrol the resort for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, and prolonged sun exposure.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and overtime when necessary.
  • Primarily outdoor work environment.
  • Frequent exposure to changing weather conditions and uneven terrain.
  • Frequent interaction with residents, guests, contractors, vendors, and resort staff.
  • Requires driving a golf cart throughout the resort for extended periods.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring sound judgment, flexibility, and excellent customer service.
