The Magistrates' Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT) Program provides case management for defendants who have entered the criminal justice system and have a demonstrable Alcohol or other drug problem. At Calvary Drug and Alcohol Centre you will be providing intensive case management services to MERIT clients in the Residential Program as well as MERIT clients in the community setting.
This exciting new role offers the opportunity to enhance collaboration with the Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment Program (MERIT) and Calvary residential rehabilitation services. This will support a more individualised approach to care planning and services for these clients and achieving positive outcomes.
- Provide individualised assessment, care planning and case management for clients engaged with the MERIT program.
- Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with MERIT, residential rehabilitation services and other key stakeholders to support client outcomes.

Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and strengthen pathways between MERIT, residential rehabilitation and other treatment services.
- Qualification as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or other relevant tertiary qualification within the NSW Health Professionals Award. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and eligibility for membership of the relevant peak body professional association.
- Demonstrated understanding of the broad health and social impact of substance abuse and dependence, and commitment to the harm minimisation approach.
- Demonstrated understanding of and skills in evidence-based interventions for substance abuse and dependence.
