Job Description and Hiring Process Attached
This position is responsible for creating systems to improve overall service delivery to Canton's residents. An employee in this position will serve as a liaison between residents, businesses, and the Township to ensure ease of access and facilitation of timely service. The position will play an integral role in communicating the needs of residents and resolving concerns within the Township. This position is under the general supervision of the Parks, Recreation & Community Services Director.

- Minimum of a bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of two years of customer service experience.
- Demonstrated and proficient skill with the use of Microsoft Office.
- Must possess a current, valid Michigan Driver's License with a driving history that does not create liability concerns; which includes, but is not limited to, convictions for reckless driving, careless driving, suspended license, or convictions involving drinking and impaired driving.
- Ability to build excellent working relationships to attain goals and work collaboratively and efficaciously as a team member.
- Effective project management skills required.
- Ability to clearly communicate procedures, problems, and policies with fellow employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, must have ability to write concise reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with persons engaging in Township activities, the general public and other employees with ability to deal with the public and vendors in a tactful and courteous manner.
- Detail orientated with demonstrated organizational skills.
- Ability to work a varied work schedule as required, including evenings and weekends as required.
- Skill in organizing self and others; ability to self-start in discharging responsibilities. Must be self-motivated.

Employment applications and job question responses will be screened to determine which candidates will be interviewed. The preferred candidates will meet the following criteria:
- This will be a competitive process. A limited number of candidates will be selected for the interview based on their relevant work experience, education and training as compared to the other candidates in the application pool.
- Demonstrated ability to meet the minimum requirements of the job description as determined by responses to the initial job questions and employment application. Candidates must meet the minimum requirements of the position as posted on the job description to be considered.
- Application prepared representing the quality of desired professional work (spelling, grammar, and presentation are essential).
- Must possess a current, valid Driver's License with a driving history that does not create liability concerns; which includes, but is not limited to, convictions for reckless driving, careless driving, suspended license, or convictions involving drinking and impaired driving. Candidate selected for this position will undergo a driving history check.
- Oral Interviews will be held on or after July 17, 2026.
- Candidates selected for the Oral Interview will be notified via e-mail no later than Friday, July 10, 2026.
- The Oral Interview may include extensive questions that explore sensitive or confidential aspects of a candidate's personal life.
- Applicants not selected for the Oral Interview will be notified via e-mail no later than July 10, 2026.
