At Schwab, Securities Lending is a strategy designed to raise additional revenue from existing client assets. Securities Lending Technology is responsible for partnering with our business to fulfill this strategy via multiple internal and vendor applications. The team is responsible for driving greater operational speed and efficiency, improving the accessibility and reliability of data, strengthening governance to ensure adherence to usage and quality standards, enabling a stronger focus on value-added analytical work, and reducing risk within an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

 

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer to create, maintain, support, and improve complex technology operations for processing large amounts of data pulled from various sources, with special emphasis around continuous improvement (CI/CD) of processes by applying modern engineering principles around TDD and BDD.  You will be working with a team of talented technologists and SMEs who bring a lot of energy, focus and fresh ideas that support our mission to provide value by seeing the world “Through Clients' Eyes.”

 

What You Are Good At

  • Understanding complex user requests and clarifying and communicating the objectives in a clear and concise manner.
  • Engage with variety of staff: BSAs, Product Owners, Developers, QA, Management
  • Contributing to projects with moderate complexity and scope.
  • Making a positive influence on your team members and peers.
  • Coordinating QA Automation efforts to ensure quality is baked into the process.
  • Working with tech leads, business partners, product owner, and BSAs to help define requirements and contribute to growing system knowledge.
  • Understanding the needs of various upstream and downstream teams to ensure that the flow of data through the connected systems is not impacted.
  • Quickly troubleshooting issues with Production Support to ensure our applications are running smoothly.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands on experience gained through 4-5+ years in a software development role creating and maintaining business applications.
  • Strong experience with modern .NET frameworks v6+ as well as C# v10+.
  • Experience with other full stack application development technologies REST Web Services, JSON/XML and Relational (SQL/Oracle) databases including data warehouses.
  • Strong fundamentals in relational databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience in an Agile development environment
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • The ability to work independently and to effectively interact and collaborate with all types of stakeholders, both technical and business, peers, and leaders.
  • The ability work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • The ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies.
  • Strong customer focus with a sense of ownership and determination to drive solutions in a collaborative environment.

In addition to the base pay range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
