Reporting to the Supervisor – Procurement, the buyer plays a pivotal role in the provision of professional procurement services, ensuring the economical sourcing and purchasing of materials and services to meet operational requirements at the mine site. With a keen focus on cost efficiency and quality, the Buyer navigates the procurement process adeptly, contributing to the seamless flow of essential resources for optimal mine site operations.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Golds safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
- →Source tenders and quotations.
- →Negotiate with suppliers and work with the end user to gain the best value for the company.
- →Process purchase orders.
- →Expediting and updating expected delivery status/tracking in the ERP system.
- →Provide directions to mine site teams with regard to purchasing procedures.
- →Process account inquiries promptly.
- →Support and promote the local community supply infrastructure.
- →Work with suppliers to ensure they are providing the required service levels.
- →Ensure all teams are in compliance with the Company’s purchasing policy and procedures.
- →Establish and maintain a neat and systematic storage and archiving system for tenders, quotations and purchase orders as well as other related documents.
- →Respond to queries and resolve issues for all teams.
- →Ensure all teams are aware of events that may affect their work, enabling them to perform their duties more effectively.
- →Adhere to ethical standards in dealing with external suppliers and the general community ensuring they are in alignment with the company code of conduct
Requirements
~1 min read• SCMP Designation preferred. • Working toward a capital PMAC designation.• 7+ years purchasing experience in mining industry.
• Working knowledge of legislation requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and current tax ruling.• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with a wide variety of people.• Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work in a very fast-paced environment and complete tasks in a timely fashion.
