Writers Room is offering a visiting fellow position for scholars, artists, or practitioners who are committed to developing inclusive, intergenerational, co-creative places that foster connection and community, which is foundational to our community and work in Second Story Collective. The visiting fellow serves as Writers Room collaborators and are deeply engaged in our programming, research, and community building.
Writers Room provides a platform to support, amplify, and celebrate the work of visiting fellows. WR facilitates professional development through opportunities to co-create programs with our community, engage with a committed network of partners, and pursue external funding.
This is a grant-funded position to support the fellows’ contributions to our programming, research, and community building; employment is contingent upon the continued availability of those funds.
- Co-create and assist in the facilitation of intergenerational programming and workshops to engage and build community through cultural experiences in connection with creative reflection and expression
- Build relationships as a part of the community
- Contribute to Writers Rooms creative or scholarly publications
- Attend Writers Room programs and events, when available
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum of 1 year of experience facilitating learning experiences, programs and/or workshops
- A combination of education and experience sufficient to guide learning and mentor learners
- Ability to interact professionally and work well with people of all backgrounds and abilities
- Highly collaborative and open to work with varied teams
- Motivated with a sense of passion for the humanities and arts-centered social change
- Integrity, confidence, enthusiasm, initiative, and the capacity to inspire cooperation
- Computer skills including Microsoft Suite, Outlook, and project management software
- University City - Philadelphia, PA
This is a Part-Time per diem position classified as Non-Exempt. The offered pay is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
