Radiology Angiographer - POOL - Bayfront Hospital

Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for procedures while adhering to radiation safety principles.

This position is located at Bayfront Hospital in St. Pete, FL

• →Assists the physician in producing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
• →Assists the physician in all procedures as necessary.
• →Ensures that the patient’s education of procedure performed, needs, safety and comfort are met while in their care.
• →Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• →Adheres to Orlando Health’s mission statement and strategic imperatives.
• →Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age-specific needs.
• →Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• →Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation and communication to the appropriate team members.
• →Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices. Manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
• →Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
• →Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• →Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
• →Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
• →Applies sterile techniques and appropriate standard precautions in utilizing Personal Protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross- contamination in accordance with OH policy and training procedures.
• →Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
• →Assists in the supervision of student technologists and the training of new technologists.
• →Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• →Demonstrates proficiency in supply usage, charging, and documentation.
• →Ensures the safety of all customers.
• →Demonstrates knowledge regarding location, use, and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment and instruments. Acts as a resource for its operation and training.
• →Maintains the use of customer service skills in communication with all Orlando Health staff, visitors, and co-workers.
• →Maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools, and forms.
• →Performs as a mentor/preceptor for new staff while maintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism.
• →Understands the application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in all procedures.
• →Ensures that case turnover time is within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimal patient care.
• →Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
• →Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements.

• Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

• Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida; and
• Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; and
• Required to maintain BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
