Oral Surgery Clinical Coordinator

Pay: $40 - $44/hour

Location: Hybrid, Bethlehem, PA

Hours: Monday- Thursday 8am - 4pm as needed, 2 Fridays/month at Surgery Center Office 7:30am - 3:00pm

Children's Dental Health is hiring a PRN Clinical Coordinator for our Bethlehem Oral Surgery Center. 

As the OS Clinical Coordinator, you will provide patient care in the surgical area for Oral Surgery while adhering to standards of practice. Coordinate patient medical history, clearances, and pre-operative instructions prior to patient arrivals. Make decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicate appropriate information to other team members.  Assist with maintaining equipment, supplies, cleanliness, and efficiency of the Surgery Center.

• →Maintain and demonstrate knowledge of medication administration and effects, patient assessment, arrhythmia detection, patient teaching, emotional/social support of patients and families and other needed clinical competencies. 

• →Contact parents/legal guardians and patients with preoperative instructions and reporting times. 

• →Review medical history including medications, allergies, surgical history, and any other pertinent medical history prior to surgery 

• →Obtain any medical clearances as needed and review with attending physician for clearance prior to surgery. 

• →Fill out all documentation accurately for each patient to ensure coordination of care. 

• →Document care appropriately and fully. Follow up on missing data and other patient care needs. 

• →Complete all narcotic counts. 

• →Understand and prioritize customer requirements. 

• →Contact patients to complete post-operative calls. 

• →Make suggestions for process and performance and quality improvement. 

• →Follow AORN standards for care of the perioperative patient. 

• →Use good body mechanics and aseptic technique. 

• →Help turnover every room during every turnover when available. 

• →Maintain stock of supplies and medications. 

• →All other duties as deemed appropriate 

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing. 

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of PA. 

• Basic life support required upon hire. 

• Cleared through the State of PA to work with children, determined through Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Clearance
