Rides Maintenance Technician

Maintenance & Inspections Performs general and preventative maintenance and inspections on amusement rides, water rides and features, and attractions.
Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of six months’ maintenance experience preferred. Technical school (2-year degree) in related field preferred. Electrical experience and/or certifications highly preferred.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Performs general and preventative maintenance and inspections on amusement rides, water rides and features, and attractions.
- →Implements preventative maintenance programs based on the manufacturer’s requirements and best practices.
- →Performs daily ride, slide, and pool inspections and any necessary repairs.
- →Utilizes technology to complete routine maintenance schedules.
- →Ensures manufacturers’ maintenance and repair bulletins are completed and recorded.
- →Records all maintenance, inspections, and repair activity in the appropriate equipment log.
- Understands the “Laws and Rules Governing Amusement Rides in Ohio.”
- Reads and understands operation and maintenance manuals.
- Assures safety through training, SOP compliance, and proper equipment maintenance.
- May work with hazardous chemicals including hydrochloric acid and liquid chlorine.
- Operates motorized vehicles and specialized equipment.
- Provides support for special events like Wildlights and Zoofari.
- Monitors and reports potential problems in buildings and attractions.
- Participates in snow removal and environmental maintenance.
- May assist other Facilities personnel and participate in cross-training.
- May provide work direction to seasonal associates.
- Attends required meetings and supports the organization’s mission.
- Implements sustainable practices in daily tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- CPR and first aid training within the first year.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate standard shift vehicles.
- Negative TB screening and background check required.
- Adherence to drug-free workplace policy.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of six months’ maintenance experience preferred.
- Technical school (2-year degree) in related field preferred.
- Electrical experience and/or certifications highly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide excellent guest service.
- Ability to develop cooperative working relationships.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently.
