As an Apprentice Electrician, you’ll assist Senior Electricians with general electrical repairs, installations, and services. You’ll learn the skills needed to build a successful career in the electrical industry while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable local and national electrical codes.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist Senior Electricians with troubleshooting and accurately and efficiently diagnosing electrical problems.
- →Learn to provide written and verbal recommendations for electrical repairs and replacements.
- →Develop strong customer service and communication skills while delivering a professional customer experience.
- →Assist with the repair and replacement of electrical components, including:
- →Light fixtures
- →Switches and receptacles
- →Circuit wiring
- →Circuit breakers
- →Breaker and fuse panels
- →Electrical service and metering equipment
- →Perform routine electrical maintenance inspections under the direction of Senior Electricians.
- →Safely access areas of buildings being serviced, including crawl spaces, attics, and other confined or difficult-to-reach areas.
- →Learn to proficiently use the tools and equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks, including electrical meters, power tools, hand tools, and ladders.
- →Communicate regularly with Senior Electricians and team members in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner.
- →Participate in on-the-job training to develop technical expertise, strengthen troubleshooting skills, and work toward becoming a Lead Electrician.
- →Follow applicable electrical codes, company safety procedures, and established quality standards.
- →Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

This position involves working in residential and light commercial environments, including homes, offices, schools, hospitals, retail stores, and other customer locations. Employees may travel to multiple service locations throughout the workday and work both indoors and outdoors, depending on the service call.
The work environment may involve exposure to electrical hazards, varying weather conditions, confined spaces, crawl spaces, attics, ladders, and other conditions common to the electrical trade. Employees must follow established safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
The Apprentice Electrician must be able to perform the following physical activities, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Standing and walking: Frequently throughout the workday.
- Sitting and reaching: Frequently, depending on job assignments.
- Climbing and crawling: Occasionally, including accessing ladders, crawl spaces, and attics.
- Squatting, kneeling, and bending: Frequently when inspecting, installing, or repairing electrical components.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling: Frequently handling tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Heavy lifting: Occasionally handling items weighing between 41 and 100 pounds, with assistance or appropriate equipment when necessary.
Physical demands may vary based on the service assignment and job requirements.

- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) preferred.
- Six months to one year of experience as an apprentice or helper electrician preferred.
- Residential and/or light commercial electrical experience is a plus.
- Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and develop electrical trade skills through hands-on training.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- State electrical license or certification is a plus, but not required for an apprentice position.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English with customers, team members, and management.
- Basic knowledge of electrical methods, materials, tools, and equipment, or the willingness to learn.
- Understanding of electrical hazards and safety precautions, with a commitment to following company safety procedures and applicable electrical codes.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or participate in an on-call rotation when needed.
- Strong customer service, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Good time management, organization, and planning skills.
- Ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and accept coaching and feedback.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Motivation to learn the electrical trade and advance toward becoming a Lead Electrician.
- Smartphone, iPad, or tablet proficiency.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to learn industry-specific software and applications.
