Laboratory Assistant, Biological Technician

Serve as Biological Technician SME for Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Center for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR).

• →Assist PI with the safe and effective scientific and administration of the laboratory and supporting staff.
• →Knowledgeable on and experienced in mammalian cell culture; in performing molecular methods (cloning, expression, qPCR, etc); as well as in producing and purifying mRNA and recombinant protein products.
• →Trained in small rodent handling techniques to include blood collection, immunization and dissection.
• →Experienced in good laboratory practices and performing immunological assays to assess immune responses (such as ELISA, IFA, ELISpot,etc.) to support DHA relevant projects.
• →Track and maintain status of supply/reagent/sample and equipment inventories.
• →Experience with writing and revising SOPs, risk assessments and study reports/summaries.
• →Manage notebooks, data files, and perform data analysisusing basic stats or graphic programs.
• →Possession of strong organization and project management skills.
• →Demonstrable ability to troubleshoot.
• →Proven record of oral and written communication.

• BS in a life science discipline
• 3+ years research laboratory experience performing immunological assessment assays or a recent Master’s degree with a research laboratory component

• Experience with DoD, DHA, or WRAIR Biologics Research
