The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the independent design, development, and optimization of transformers and related components. As a fully competent engineer, the Design role involves applying well-established expertise to complete tasks and projects with minimal supervision. This role includes collaboration with cross-functional teams and occasional mentoring of less experienced engineers. The Design Engineer contributes to product performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

• → Independently design and develop transformers and related components, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA) and customer specifications.
• → Conduct engineering analyses to optimize product performance, cost, and efficiency.
• → Perform detailed failure analysis on design-related issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to improve product quality and reliability.
• → Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, sales, and customer service to ensure successful integration of designs into production.
• → Participate in design reviews to provide technical input and ensure that designs meet project and customer requirements.
• → Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
• → Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure product designs remain competitive and compliant.
• → Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promoting innovation and efficiency in the design process.
• → Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance as needed, though leadership is not a primary focus of this role.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on transformer or related product design.
• Proficiency with design and analysis tools, including mechanical and thermal analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, FEA).
• Ability to interact with, maintain, and update ERP system data related to engineering processes.
• Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA) and regulatory requirements (e.g. DOE) for transformers and related components.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working in cross-functional teams.
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Experience conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions for design-related issues.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $100,000.
