Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Intern / Co-Op – Civil / Environmental Engineering or Science in our Acton, Massachusetts office. The position offers the opportunity to apply engineering (civil, geotechnical, and environmental) academic knowledge to real-world situations while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. The position is full-time (40 hours/week) for approximately 13 to 15 weeks during the spring, or summer semesters of 2027. Preferred candidates would have the ability to return to the position for additional opportunities during their undergraduate or graduate studies. Candidates are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the office.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools;
- →Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
- →Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
- →Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD designers, and contractors and construction personnel;
- →Potential for fieldwork such as soil sampling, stormwater inspections, and drilling and contractor monitoring; and
- →Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
- Currently registered in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a Civil, Environmental, or Geological Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related discipline. (required)
- Degree focus in Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, Hydrogeology, Geology, or Water Resources.
Requirements
~1 min read- Experience with Microsoft Office. (preferred)
- Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication, and problem-solving skills. (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites. (required)
This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.
- Minimum: $24.02/hour / Maximum: $33.63/hour (Acton, MA)
