Intern – Environmental Engineer or Geologist

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Intern – Environmental Engineer or Geologist in our Charlotte, North Carolina office. This position will support our environmental remediation and environmental management teams through a variety of interdisciplinary tasks. The position offers the opportunity to apply academic knowledge in engineering or geology disciplines to real-world situations, while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. The position is full-time (40 hours/week) for approximately 10 to 12 weeks during the summer semester of 2027. Candidates are responsible for coordinating their own transportation to and from the office.

• →Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools;
• →Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
• →Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
• →Follow instructions and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators (draftsmen), contractors and construction personnel;
• →Potential for fieldwork such as soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling and drilling and contractor oversight; and.
• →Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. 

• Currently registered in a Bachelor’s or Master’s university degree program in geology or a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., environmental, civil, chemical). (required)

• Experience with ArcGIS, CADD, and/or Microsoft Office. (preferred)
• Prior internship and/or research experience. (preferred)
• Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication and problem-solving skills. (required)
• Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites. (required)
