We are seeking an innovative, creative and experienced Senior Sales Engineer based in Asia who is ready for the challenges, responsibilities, and rewards that come with working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. ST Engineering iDirect is dedicated to providing next generation solutions for broadband IP networking via satellite networks. Reporting to the Sales Engineer Manager, Asia, the candidate manages and coordinates Sales Engineering activities in a country/region by acting in a technical consultative role through the analysis of the customer requirements and the creation of competitive network designs.

Responsibilities

  • Will work closely with Territory Sales Executives to identify opportunities for STEi solutions
  • Will be responsible for all “technical” aspects of an assigned account, by being aware of the design/implementation, open issues and expansion plans
  • Will act as the Go-To Technical contact for customers by always keeping business aspects in mind
  • Will act in a technical sales consultative role to customers and partners by analyzing requirements and providing competitive network designs
  • Must support Sales in proposal writing, ensuring technical accuracy, and would require validating customer scenarios and proposed configurations, if required, through hands-on system configuration and testing
  • Must have ability to create presentations and white papers as needed
  • Must perform virtual or in-person technical presentations to customers and partners
  • Must perform equipment demonstrations and lab testing of network solutions at HQ or on-site, if required
  • Must support TAC (Technical Assistance Center) for critical customer escalations by coordinating and assisting in all relevant areas of support, if required
  • Must maintain a high level of awareness of competitive developments
  • Must maintain a high-level awareness of technology trends
  • Must maintain high level of awareness of complimentary 3rd party technologies.
  • Would represent the division as voice of technology in public forums – industry meetings, relations with customers, internal sales functions, trade shows
  • Requires providing customer feedback, support product engagement, provide competitive feedback and make feature requests, by openly communicating with Product Management, Marketing, TAC, and other relevant areas related to the company products, solutions and services
  • Must take over other territories from time to time, and have ability to travel 30% or higher depending on customer requirements

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor or Engineering Degree in telecommunications, computer science, Electronics, or closely related field
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years’ experience designing and implementing complex Satellite Networks using GEO, LEO or MEO satellite constellations. Experience in a Satellite operator, Industry Manufacturer or related, is a definite plus
  • Must have previous Sales Engineering experience in the Satellite Industry
  • An excellent knowledge of L3 and L2 LAN/WAN architectures and protocols 
  • A familiarity with various verticals and applications in the satellite industry (Cellular Backhaul, Enterprise / Consumer Networks, Defense Networks, IoT, etc) and associated networking devices (Switches, Routers, etc)
  • A mastery of IP networking skills
  • Experience in Link Budget Analysis and satellite transmission systems is a definitive plus
  • An awareness of or ability to quickly learn about complex satellite communication concepts
  • The ability to analyze customer needs and provide solutions and services to meet these needs
  • The ability to work closely with customers
  • The ability to act in a consultative role to ensure customer needs are met
  • The ability to coordinate technical features with business values
  • Knowledge of common network operating systems such as Windows, Linux and related applications
  • Knowledge of Cloud, XaaS, Virtualization environments and SD-WAN Concepts is a plus
  • Knowledge of 5G technology is a plus
  • The ability to travel nationally and internationally. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written
  • It is a must to speak and write English fluently
