As a Manager of Business Intelligence, you will lead a group of analysts who use data to shape business strategy and improve performance across multiple teams. You will partner with senior leaders to define priorities, set the team’s analytical agenda, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
In this role, you will own the design, build, and ownership of scalable analytics solutions end to end, from data models and SQL to the dashboards and metrics the business relies on. You will direct complex, cross-functional data initiatives, define how key metrics are measured, and set technical standards for data quality, performance, and documentation. You are an expert with large, complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
The ideal candidate has led groups of analysts and can take an ambiguous business objective and drive it from problem definition through delivery and business impact, while proactively identifying where the business opportunities are. You will set priorities for the team, coach and develop analysts, review SQL and analyses, and raise the bar on analytical rigor. You will also lead the team’s use of AI tools and automation, establishing best practices and building reusable workflows that make BI more efficient and scalable.
- Manage a group of business intelligence analysts, including work prioritization, coaching, performance feedback, professional development, and technical guidance.
- Own the design and development of scalable dashboards, reports, and data products that serve as trusted sources of truth for business decision-making.
- Experience and historical responsibility for shaping an organization’s technical/analytic architecture guidance and approach.
- Drive complex, cross-functional analyses of large datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and root causes, and translate them into strategic recommendations.
- Partner with senior leaders to shape business questions, define key metrics and KPIs, and translate them into analytical approaches and technical requirements.
- Design and oversee testing and measurement strategies, including A/B testing and causal inference methods, and guide others on sound experimental design, interpretation, and analysis.
- Establish standards for data quality, validation, and documentation, lead improvements to data processes and tools, including adoption of AI-assisted workflows and automation, and present findings, recommendations, progress, and risks to senior leadership to drive alignment and influence decisions and priorities across teams.
- Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience; or a PhD with a minimum of 3 years experience
- Proven ability to combine strategic thinking with tactical execution, and to lead the effective use of AI-assisted development tools, agents, automation, and emerging technologies across coding, SQL, analysis, testing, and research, including setting best practices for others
- Demonstrated ability to autonomously navigate high ambiguity, prioritize across multiple concurrent cross-team initiatives, and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and compelling narratives that influence senior leaders and drive decisions, with a key focus on business and customer impact.
- Expert-level experience writing and optimizing complex SQL across large, distributed datasets, and advanced experience with programming languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis, transformation, automation, and statistical modeling.
- Expertise with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and designing intuitive, scalable reporting solutions.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and data pipeline concepts, with experience partnering with data engineering to shape data architecture.
- Experience mentoring analysts and elevating team capabilities and standards.

The salary range for this role reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for the role. Offers are typically made between the range minimum and the range midpoint. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process. The range(s) listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
