Intrastaff Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner (NP)

We are seeking a TEMPORARY/CONTRACT Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality care through the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries. The Nurse Practitioner will deliver direct patient care with a strong focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and continuity of care, while helping ensure compliance with applicable state, federal, Student Health & Well-Being (SHWB), and ambulatory accreditation requirements.

payrate- $80 per hour

• →Patient care: Provide culturally responsive, affirming, and evidence-based care that supports the diversity, equity, and inclusion values of SHWB.
• →Clinical assessment and treatment: Conduct comprehensive, age-appropriate assessments; obtain medical histories; perform screenings and physical examinations; order and interpret diagnostic tests; diagnose acute and chronic conditions; and prescribe appropriate medications and treatments.
• →Health promotion: Educate patients with a strong emphasis on health maintenance, preventive care, and informed self-management.
• →Care coordination: Promote continuity of care by coordinating available healthcare services and making appropriate referrals to specialists and community agencies.
• →Professional accountability: Organize time and workload to meet patient, staff, and departmental needs, and assume responsibility for clinical and administrative decisions that affect people, costs, and service quality.
• →Quality and safety: Participate in peer chart review, laboratory proficiency testing, quality-control activities, and other quality-improvement efforts.
• →Documentation and compliance: Document care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record in accordance with applicable medical, legal, regulatory, accreditation, and SHWB requirements.
• →Professional engagement: Attend SHWB meetings, participate in SHWB Primary Care committees, and pursue continuing education and professional development.
• →Additional responsibilities: Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

• Master’s degree in nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Certification as an ADULT OR FAMILY Nurse Practitioner.
• Current Nurse Practitioner license in Maryland.
• Current CPR certification.
• Two to four years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.

• Ambulatory care experience as a Nurse Practitioner in adolescent or young adult health, public health, or college health.
• Current licensure in Washington, DC.
• Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Controlled Dangerous Substances registrations.
• Currently or previously credentialed and privileged through Johns Hopkins.
