Trimmer - 2nd Shift (Horicon)

Reporting to the Production Shift Supervisor, the Trimmer is responsible for trimming, flaming, finishing plastic parts and sorting/counting order qauntities. 

2nd Shift Hours (2pm -10pm, Monday - Friday)

• →Trim excess plastic from parting lines.
• →Inspect product and communicate findings back to the machine operators.
• →Assemble product in accordance with the specific work instructions.
• →Data entry and basic computer functions.
• →Select correct hand tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance.
• →Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
• →Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system.
• →Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.
• →Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
• →Maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance team.
• →Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level.
• →Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
• →Other duties as assigned.

• A High School diploma or GED Equivalent is preferred. 
• Previous experience working within a highly technical environment.
• Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continuous improvement.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, twist, and transport product and materials short distances.
• Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job.
• Ability to work collaboratively and productively in a team-environment.
• Ability to work safely and without injury with hand tools in an environment with metal and sharp objects.
• Must have strong metal grinding, forming and basic fabrication background.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure online manuals.
• Demonstrated detail orientation, self motivation skills and ability to multi-task.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools.
• Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
• Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.
• Ability to work with various types of metal forming constraints with guidance.
• Previous experience with overhead crane use is desired.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
• Work in an efficient and timely manner.
• Aptitude to take orders and execute the same efficiently.
• Demonstrated detail orientation, self motivation skills and ability to multi-task.
