Minimum of one-year Medical Assistant experience, outpatient surgery experience preferred. Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The MA is an essential member of the health care team who is responsible for patient care of patients aged six months throughout the life span. The MA will work collaboratively with an LPN and/or RN to provide safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative, individualized and goal-directed nursing care to patients and their families in the Surgery Center.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist with admitting patients from the waiting room to the pro-op area
- →Assist with dressing patients in proper surgical attire before surgery
- →Hook-up patient monitors and obtain first set of vital signs and record
- →assist patients during transfers on/off gurney
- →Keep PACU supplies well stocked
- →Provides pre/post-operative care and instructions.
- →Assists in surgery by preparing the laser room with supplies and sterilized equipment.
- →Stocks all medication and medical supplies by proactively planning work week to ensure completion of required tasks.
- →Calls to request pre/post-ops on surgery patients.
- →Orders all medical supplies.
- →Keeps up with all regular and emergency maintenance on medical equipment.
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum of one-year Medical Assistant experience, outpatient surgery experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ophthalmology experience preferred
- Sterile processing/instrument prep experience preferred
