Nurse Practitioner - Women's Health - Dublin, Ohio

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a  Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (CWHNP) to join our growing OB/GYN team in Dublin, Ohio. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive women’s healthcare across the lifespan in a collaborative outpatient setting, working closely with experienced OB/GYN physicians to deliver exceptional patient-centered care. As a key member of the care team, you will assess, diagnose, treat, educate, and support patients while helping coordinate care and promote positive health outcomes. Purpose: Under the direction of an OB/GYN Physician, the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner collaborates with physicians to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, evaluation, education, counseling, and care coordination for patients in an outpatient women’s health setting. Services include care during acute and chronic phases of health conditions, referral to appropriate healthcare providers and community resources, and coordination of ongoing patient care.

 

 

• Perform comprehensive health histories and physical examinations for new and established patients.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage women’s health concerns across the lifespan, including preventive, gynecologic, reproductive, and menopausal care.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, diagnostic studies, and screenings.
• Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Conduct comprehensive and episodic health assessments and develop patient-centered care plans.
• Review, prescribe, and manage medications in accordance with Ohio licensure and prescriptive authority guidelines.
• Provide patient education regarding preventive care, treatment options, disease management, reproductive health, and wellness strategies.
• Evaluate patient outcomes and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
• Triage patient phone calls, portal messages, and clinical concerns, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination of care.
• Facilitate referrals to specialists, community resources, and other healthcare providers as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Support quality, safety, infection prevention, and patient satisfaction initiatives within the practice.

 

Qualifications

• Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (CWHNP) required.
• Current Ohio Certificate to Prescribe (CTP) and DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain.
• Previous OB/GYN clinical experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of women’s health, gynecologic care, preventive screening practices, and reproductive health management.
• Experience in an outpatient clinic, physician practice, or women’s health setting preferred.
• Knowledge of triage procedures and patient care coordination.
• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
• Knowledge of appropriate procedures and standards for medication management and patient care.
• Ability to educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and empathy.
• Demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, analytical thinking, and clinical judgment
