We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Control System Engineer with deep experience in Ignition SCADA and PLC-based control system development experience. In this role, you will be a key member in developing Power Plant Controller using Ignition SCADA and a PLC based controller. This role is pivotal in delivering industry grade, highly efficient and customizable solutions for LG’s energy storage systems.

Responsibilities

  • →PLC based control system design and development using IEC 61131-2.
  • →Integrate Ignition based SCADA platform with PLCs, databases, EMS controllers and other IEDs.
  • →Develop intuitive HMIs and dashboards for plant visualization and control.
  • →Design and implement control algorithms for Power Plant Controller used in grid scale battery storage applications.
  • →Configure OPC UA, DNP3 and other protocols for real time data acquisition and integration with other controls systems.
  • →Perform system commissioning, testing and validation.
  • →Maintain excellent documentation capturing controller designs, project timelines and presentations for stakeholder communication.
  • →Interface with program management, project management and project engineers to help deliver controls functionality and performance according to the project specifications.
  • Experience with PLC programming (structured text, ladder logic).
  • Work or educational experience in control systems engineering 
  • Experience in SCADA development using Inductive Automation’s Ignition platform or similar.
  • Working knowledge of industrial networking protocols (OPC UA, DNP3, Modbus, Goose) and data base integration (SQL).
  • Experience developing design documents and test validation procedures
  • Excellent verbal, written and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work as a key member on a development team.
  • Ability to interface well with internal and external customers.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Schweitzer RTAC devices
  • Experience integrating solutions with Docker
  • Experience using medium voltage equipment such as inverters and transformers.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1-year professional experience
  • Hybrid in office 3 days/week
  • Occasional travel may be required.
