Occupational Health Nurse

The Occupational Health Nurse reports directly to the Operations Manager and indirectly to the Occupational Health Coordinator. The successful candidate holds a valid nursing license in practicing state and current certification in CPR/AED from American Red Cross or AHA.

• →Treatment of on-site injuries and referral to outside medical care as needed
• →Case management for injured workers and facilitate return to work
• →Provide medical surveillance for all employees including but not limited to annual audiograms, spirometry, vision screening and lead testing
• →Conduct new hire pre-employment drug and alcohol screening & coordinate medical examinations
• →Participate in ergonomics assessments and job hazard analyses
• →Administration of the Drug and Alcohol program according to company policy
• →Responsible for training employees in First Aid and CPR/AED as Medical Responders to aid in the care of injured workers
• →Responsible for training employees on Bloodborne Pathogens, Hearing Conservation, Violence in the Workplace, Ergonomics and Heat Stress to meet OSHA requirements
• →Advise on Workers’ Compensation claims, as needed
• →FMLA Administration
• →Maintain HIPPA compliant documentation
• →Accountable for delivery of agreed to regional health metrics and outcomes
• →Purchase all supplies required for the first aid clinic
• →Develop and meet site budget expectations
• →Drive increased health outcomes including reducing population health risks, managing and eliminating workplace health risks and supporting improved business outcomes through advancing employee health and wellbeing
• →Willingness to work closely with the Safety Coordinators at the division level to recognize hazards and prevent injury

• Active RN license in state of practice
• 2 or more years hospital or clinic nursing experience
• Excellent assessment skills in a clinical setting
• Phlebotomy
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Travel, as needed

• 3 or more years of experience in occupational nursing or emergency nursing and/or clinic experience
• 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, and/or occupational environment
• Working knowledge of regulatory areas (ADA, OSHA, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation)
• CPR/AED Instructor
• Health coaching/certification
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse
• 3 or more years of experience in occupational nursing or emergency nursing and/or clinic experience
