Controls Engineer

Our Software Engineers work in a dynamic environment where there are no limits on personal or professional growth. Shermco Industries is seeking a Controls Engineer in Phoenix, AZ. 

Design of control systems including:

• →Network Architecture
• →Cause and Effect Diagram
• →Control Philosophy
• →SCADA Maps
• →Programming of control system using PLC and HMI software tools.
• →Startup/Commissioning of control system (within continental US).

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in control systems and startup/commissioning.
• Experience with pipeline and/or oil and gas processing a plus.
• Must have experience with low and medium voltage controls.
• Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate in English via verbal and written methods and be comfortable and effective doing so directly to customers and co-workers.

• DeltaV (DCS)
• Wonderware InTouch / ArchestrA / System Platform / Win911 (HMI)
• OPC Systems SCADA (HMI)

Industry experience:Oil and Gas, Utilities, Agriculture, Metals, Mining, Paper, Data Centers, Health Care     Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, drive regularly, with or without reasonable accommodations
• Should be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam when required
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
• All offers are conditioned on acceptable results from a background check and drug and alcohol screening. 
• Must have a valid driver’s license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer-sponsored visa (work permit).
• Must be able to fluently read, write, and speak English.
• Must be willing to travel; minimum 40%.
