Job Summary: Provides role as patient advocate through their own role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service. Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, direct interaction with patients’, and providing/assisting in groups.

This position is primarily assigned to cover 1:1 and/or designated acuity shifts on the inpatient units. In the event that there are no 1:1 or designated acuity needs for a given shift, the employee will be reabsorbed into the float pool and assigned to cover other needs in the Hospital.

Specifications: Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.

Candidate must have excellent written skills.

Excellent communication skills.

C.N.A. Preferred: 2% Pay Differential Available to Applicants who maintain an Active CNA License.
