The Opportunity:
We are seeking passionate individuals to join our team on a Part-Time basis as Child and Youth Care Workers in Edmonton, Alberta and area. In this role, you'll be pivotal in a group home setting, offering specialized care to children and youth with complex behavioral needs. What sets us apart? Schedule:
11:00 p.m. - 7 a.m. 3 days on, 6 days off.
Your Day to Day:
- Establish a relationship to guide and support youth through mentorship, role modelling, and positive reinforcement
- Supervise children/youth at home and in the community
- Complete and maintain documentation of daily activities and observations
- Participate in the Care Team through the ongoing development of care plans and programs
- Perform routine general program responsibilities such as cleaning and organization
What You Bring:
- Direct experience working with youth with complex behavioural and mental health needs
- Knowledge of child and youth care mental wellness best practices
- Knowledge of effective home care processes and procedures
- Trauma Informed Care understanding and proven experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong technology and computer skills
- Completion of a Degree/Diploma in Child and Youth Care or Social Work is an asset
- Suicide prevention training is an asset
- Mental Health First Aid is an asset
Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License
- Alberta 10-year Driver's Abstract (10 years driving experience is not required)
- Alberta auto insurance with $2-million liability coverage
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR Level C + AED (two day in person training completed)
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check obtained within the last 6 months
- Intervention Record Check obtained from Children Services within the last 6 months
- Your own reliable four door vehicle to transport clients in
