Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic

Our U.S. operations include Bulk Dry and Liquid Logistics, primarily serving the Oil & Gas industry.

We are currently seeking a full-time Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic to join our team at our Williston, ND terminal. Reporting directly to the Terminal Manager, the Diesel Truck & Trailer Mechanic is responsible for maintaining the safety, reliability, and operational readiness of our fleet. This position will inspect, diagnose, repair, and service transport trucks, trailers, and related systems and components.

• →Inspect, diagnose, service, repair, adjust, and replace parts and components of trucks and trailers in a timely and efficient manner.
• →Perform preventative maintenance and repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• →Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, air, hydraulic, and aftertreatment systems.
• →Perform repairs and maintenance on tractors, pneumatic trailers, and side-dump trailers.
• →Conduct required vehicle inspections in accordance with applicable FMCSA standards and company requirements.
• →Communicate repair status, maintenance needs, and equipment concerns to the Terminal Manager and appropriate personnel.
• →Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers regarding repairs, inspections, parts, and preventative maintenance.
• →Read and interpret work orders, technical manuals, service information, schematics, and repair procedures.
• →Accurately document repairs, diagnoses, parts used, and service activities.
• →Prepare service reports and maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
• →Ensure purchase orders and work orders are accurately completed and processed in a timely manner.
• →Identify the root cause of equipment failures and recommend appropriate corrective action.
• →Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• →Participate in company safety, compliance, training, and regulatory programs.
• →Perform all other duties as assigned.

• 3–5 years of directly related diesel mechanic experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with diesel engines and heavy-duty truck and trailer systems.
• Experience diagnosing and servicing aftertreatment systems.
• Experience working with tractors, pneumatic trailers, and side-dump trailers.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, work orders, and repair procedures.
• Must provide and maintain a personal set of appropriate hand tools.
• Must be willing and available to participate in on-call and after-hours work as needed.
• Ability to work independently while also communicating effectively with operations and management.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• CDL Class A license is an asset but is not required.

This position requires the ability to safely perform hands-on mechanical work in a variety of working environments and weather conditions. Essential physical requirements include:

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, including in an active truck terminal, shop, yard, and around heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, and other outdoor conditions common to North Dakota.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat, reach, climb, and work in awkward or confined positions for extended periods.
• Ability to frequently move around trucks, trailers, equipment, and the maintenance area while performing inspections and repairs.
• Ability to climb ladders, steps, platforms, and truck/trailer access points as required.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other mechanical equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, parts, components, hoses, equipment, and other materials as required to perform the job.
• Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, with the ability to handle heavier components with appropriate assistance or equipment.
• Ability to work safely around moving vehicles, machinery, tools, fuels, lubricants, and other materials associated with heavy-duty truck maintenance.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, eye protection, gloves, hearing protection, and other PPE as required.
• Ability to maintain sufficient mobility, strength, balance, and coordination to safely perform essential job duties.
• Must be able to work extended hours, weekends, and participate in on-call responsibilities when required by operational needs.
